Another bad joke I know, but you have to laugh at this one!

Mosquito’s where does one start…Lets just say Mosquito’s are probably the most hated insect on the planet.

Some facts on a Mosquito Bite and why they itch;

When a mosquito bites, they draw blood while injecting some of their saliva.  Their saliva contains an anticoagulant and proteins.

The Proteins are foreign substances that trigger the body’s immune system.  To fight them the body’s immune system release histamine, a compound that helps white blood cells get to the affected area.

Histamine is what causes the itchiness, inflammation, and swelling.

Okay so now that we know that mosquitos draw blood and spit in us YUK!

I think everyone of us has been attacked at some time by the dreaded mossie, whether sitting around in the evening on your balcony or around at friends for a BBQ.  However the worst time for all is at night.

I don’t know about you? but just when you are starting to drift of to sleep, that dreaded winey noise drones in your eardrums (no not the kids) and you are up and swinging and slapping, while most of us swearing at the same time.  I personally cannot go back to sleep unless I have killed that #@$%*#@ and I don’t care if I have smeared it on the ceiling or the wall with that streak of blood, I just want it dead!

Here is a home remedy for mossies:

15 drops of Lavender Oil
3-4 tablespoons vanilla extract
Quarter cup of Lemon juice
Half a litre of water.
